Misinterpreted not only from a humanitarian perspective, but from a Constitutional perspective.

Freedom of speech by the Constitution protects the rights of people from being silenced by government tyranny and to speak up against oppression, unfortunately, people are using this freedom to spew hate and insults toward those they disagree with and for those insults of hate to be protected by law. Technically, free speech is protected by law but ignorance has convinced many to turn it toward their own hateful aggression.

After veterans of the US military fought to eradicate Nazism in World War II, and the majority of the world has condemned Nazi propaganda and hostility, there are some who proudly display Nazi emblems and activity openly to this day. Of these, three were acquitted; the jury failed to reach a verdict on one charge for the fourth. Within hours of the acquittals, the 1992 Los Angeles riots started, sparked by outrage among racial minorities over the trial’s verdict and related, longstanding social issues. The rioting lasted six days and killed 63 people, with 2,383 more injured; it ended only after the California Army National Guard, the Army, and the Marine Corps provided reinforcements to re-establish control. King advocated for a peaceful end to the conflict.”

In 2005, “Hurricane Katrina exposed a significant level of violence against Black Americans, primarily through the disproportionate impact the disaster had on Black communities in New Orleans, leaving them with severely limited access to aid and rescue efforts due to pre-existing racial inequalities, resulting in a devastating situation where a majority of those affected by the flooding and destruction were African American, highlighting systemic racism in the aftermath of the hurricane.”

The initial run for his first presidential term, Trump ushered in increased racial violence against Black Americans.
