Why African Countries Have Never Went Nuclear
Africa remains a nuclear-weapon-free zone under the Pelindaba Treaty (2009), and no country is actively pursuing nukes. Wonder why?

It is no mystery why African countries do not have nuclear weapons despite their wealth and the resources in the land to produce them. Uranium is needed to produce nuclear weapons and Africa holds some of the world’s largest uranium reserves, mined in Niger, Namibia, Malawi, Tanzania, and DR Congo also have deposits.
They would also need enrichment programs for the Uranium as well as a Nuclear Research Program and the Infrastructure. However, Africa remains a nuclear-weapon-free zone under the Pelindaba Treaty (2009), and no country is actively pursuing nukes. Missile capabilities are limited to short-range systems, with no ICBM threats. The bigger concern is conventional arms proliferation (drones, small arms) rather than WMDs.
Libya (under Gaddafi) pursued nuclear weapons but abandoned its program in 2003 under international pressure. Its remaining nuclear-related materials were removed after Gaddafi’s fall in 2011. In fact, international pressure from the US, EU, China, and Russia would likely prevent a nuclear weapons program by African nations. Wonder why?
For sure, the leaders of Africa can develop nuclear weapons, unfortunately, they have been restrained by international pressure and accumulated debt to other countries which prevent them from going forward. It has been said that African nations lack the political will to build a program. Of course, this is the result of African educational institutions lack of scientific research departments, financial sufficiency, and political opposition; not because they do not have the ability, as did Libya under Gaddafi. In other words, keep Africa broke, divided, and powerless.
They have been neutralized by the world in every area it takes to develop nukes and this system has been in place and maintained with intensity for decades. Instead, they are held to the Pelindaba Treaty while all other nations, such as North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, and other developing nations build their nuclear programs, although under strict watch of the West.
But recently, some African leaders are seeking to make change and move forward with development in many areas, including nuclear energy and power to name a few. As far as weapons manufacturing is concerned, African nations have long lived under the oppression and restraint of Western nations as they plunder their resources to build nuclear weapons for themselves and to enrich their own countries. They have become complacent with nondevelopment of nukes.
But who knows what time will bring once the western nations fall by their own greed and violence. Africa will rise from the aftermath and once again become a world leader. The only difference between Africa and the west is that the African spirit is not self-destructive, nor are they a people coveting other lands and resources of the world; though they own most of the resources needed for world survival.
But that does not stop Africa from purchasing nukes from other countries; making trade deals with nuclear-powered nations, or building a concentrated network of nation-to-nation agreements that would assist them to develop a nuclear program to build weapons of mass destruction. Africa has many resources to bargain with and other countries need those resources.
Finally, the reason Africa does not have nukes is because many nations fear an African nuclear-powered program, seeing they have every reason to bomb any nation that has stolen from them, committed genocide and slavery on their people, and introduced sickness, poverty, and disease to the citizens of Africa for centuries. Let us all pray that African leaders have mercy on the world when their time comes.
Nevertheless, Africa is not a warmongering people and would just as well live in peace and mind their business, like every other nation on this earth does. If only the west would stop interfering with other nations can the world live in true peace and develop as the Creator meant. War only comes from Satan and his angels, and Africa is a blessed nation after God’s own heart.
