Justifying Guns Using the Bible is an Abomination

Justifying Guns Using the Bible is an Abomination

Preachers and believers that carry guns and justify it using scriptures are teaching false doctrine and are practicing a form of idolatry. Enforcing the laws of God from behind a deadly weapon is not God’s will for humanity; Jesus himself condemned this behavior during His ministry.

In St. John 18:36 it reads: “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”

Meaning, the purpose of being a servant of Jesus Christ does not include fighting physical battles, but spiritual battles. We do not fight against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12.

Carrying a gun for protection, defense against crime, in battles of war, or even using one for defending family members, or any excuse to have a gun, is putting trust in something other than God, which is idolatry. It may seem foolish to many not having protection against violence toward your family, but trust in God supersedes a gun.

For example, when the soldiers came out to take Jesus and have him tried before Pilate, Peter drew his sword and cut off one of the soldier’s ear. Jesus immediately said to him “… Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?”

The above passage not only denounces the use of weapons, because violence brings death, but it suggests having faith in God that He can take vengeance by His own power. Furthermore, Jesus says that the scriptures must be fulfilled, which is God’s will. If so be that He (or you) must die, then it is God’s will. No one can add to the days of their life nor not one hair to their head.

Even after Peter cut the ear of the soldier off, Jesus healed the soldier’s ear; “And he touched his ear, and healed him.” St. Luke 22:50. So unless a person can heal someone they have shot wounded or killed, they have no reason to carry or use a gun.

Church leaders, believers and politicians that claim it is their God-given right to carry a gun and that the Bible condones this are liars, false prophets, and idolators with murderous souls. The 2nd amendment does not coincide with biblical principles and is merely an excuse to use violence to enforce false doctrine. These men are full of evil, hatred and anger and should repent for their iniquities and ask God to increase their faith.
