The Apostle John wrote, “God is Love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16.
Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 5:5… “the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
For God’s children to experience and express the Love of God through ourselves toward others, we must receive and walk every day in the Spirit of the Holy Ghost.
Apostle Peter explained this to many who would hear in Acts 2:38, 39, when he said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
Jesus also, spoke this truth to the people in the gospel of St. John 3:3-5, when he said, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jesus himself gave an example of this transformation in the Gospel of Matthew who records Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist, which says, “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16, 17.
The moment a person believes, they will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Mark tells what will follow that person the moment they truly believe, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” St. Mark 16:15-18.
Apostle Peter encourages those who receive, “as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2.
Our humanity needs the Love of God to grow and transform into a follower of Christ. The Holy Ghost is the key to the Kingdom and the Love of God is our power over the burdens of the world.
