Women Waiting on a Husband Need Oil in their Lamp

Families would be so much stronger if marriage was done the right way and according to the instructions of the Lord. For women to marry a good man of God and to be a good wife, they have to commit their lives to the Lord and do the things that purifies a woman and make her ready for a husband.

First, she has to remain a virgin for as long as possible. The term abstinence is used in the world and in place of the biblical word virgin to describe a woman who has kept herself for the man of her desires. However, the word abstinence has become a byword among the world; an old fashion word that denotes an old timey religious fanatic.

As stated, the bible specifically refers to women as virgins, who God acknowledges to be a suitable mate for a man seeking a wife. There is a physical and spiritual strength for those women and God will enhance their strengths as they grow and learn about themselves and the role of a good wife and being a good, Holy woman of God.

The woman who dedicates herself; mind, body, and soul to the Lord is one who constantly seeks the Lord’s direction and strength through prayer and fasting in the Holy Spirit. As she ministers to the Lord, He fills her with wisdom and spiritual discernment so she can see when the devil is trying to deceive her and no good men approach her. Too many women today have not committed themselves to the Lord which is why so many fall victim to bad marriages and broken relationships.

Isaiah 4:1 says that there will be a time when women will become so desperate for a man that they will compromise themselves and their morals just to have one. “And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.” Isaiah 4:1.

That day is prevalent today more than ever. Women are settling and are committing to failed relationships, heartache and broken families because they do not follow the instructions of the Lord. They follow instead after their lust of the flesh, which leads to increased sin and an addiction to sexual immorality as they constantly seek out what they want and are never fulfilled.

The book of Matthew, chapter 25, describes the perfect illustration in a parable Jesus teaches to the people that would benefit a woman of today in her wait for the right man. The scripture reads, “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.” Matthew 25:1-4.

In the parable, there are two types of virgins, wise and foolish. The foolish virgins can be considered those women who have not sought out the commitment of the Lord and who follow after the trends of the world, but who have no oil in their lamps. They try abstinence and the waiting game by their own will, but without the Holy Spirit, they are still vulnerable to the seduction of the world. The oil represents the Holy Ghost being present in the believer, which sanctifies the temple of the body.

The wise virgins, on the other hand, have oil in their vessels and are prepared for the bridegroom when he comes. The scripture says that, “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.’ Verse 10.

The women with no oil in their lamps were not ready for a husband. They did not seek for the Holy Ghost so were not able to be purified by God’s Spirit. They were instead tossed to and fro by the lust and things of the world not being able to grow as true women of God. The women who had the oil were cleaned and made pure by the Spirit and had prepared for the coming of their husband.

It is important for women to seek a commitment to the Lord and allow the Holy Ghost to prepare them. Virginity is important and is strengthened by fasting and prayer. If women ask for the Spirit to keep them from the lust of the world, He will. If they ask for self-control and strong spiritual guidance, the Lord will lead them and keep them from lust and all sexual immorality.

He will strengthen them as prophetess and Holy women of God and reveal to them the mysteries and hidden wisdom of the Word and powers of God. When they do receive a husband, he will be good to her, dedicated and a man made by God. Women of God are only permitted to marry men who also have the Holy Ghost. If they marry outside the body of Christ, their marriage may not last unless the man is saved by God. This is possible, but not suggested.

“For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.” 1 Corinthians 7:14. The children are holy only because the husband and the wife are Spirit filled.

Thus, as a single woman in today’s world, it is best to remain a virgin as long as possible, seek for the Holy Ghost of God, and commit their lives unto the Lord through fasting and prayer. No evil shall come near them and temptation is easy to avoid.

If the woman has been married before they receive the Holy Ghost and is no longer a virgin, they should seek the Spirit and become born again, which makes them spiritual virgins in the Lord. Please read further in The Mystery of Marriage, Divorce, and Adultery.
