The MAGA Evangelical Agenda Compared to God’s Will

LISTEN HERE -

Many evangelical preachers are doubling down on the 47th president being chosen of God to make America Great and bring it under the rule of Christianity. In accordance with the new executive orders, Project 2025 and the Christian nationalist agenda, there are concerns about whether this rapid change in the US government is fulfilling God’s will or just the will of overly-zealous men.

Many people’s lives are being changed from what they are used to for the last 50 years and more people are standing up against this new covert takeover, as well as many other people afraid for their lives. But the Evangelical community constantly reassures people that it is not that serious and to hold on and wait, the rewards will be great in the end.

In the meantime, they bask in certain victories that have fulfilled the wishes of the Christian church such as banning abortions, slowing the growth of the LGBTQ community and pronoun teachings taught to school children, with the push to Christianize these things and a move toward disrupting the ungodliness in the country. However, there are many other things that are not aligning with God’s will that Evangelicals are ignoring or refusing to give their attention to. They have gotten sort of quiet.

Franklin Graham, the son of the late Billy Graham, both poster children of the modern-day Evangelical movement, have praised, donated to and supported Trump in each of his presidential runs. During the inauguration, Graham said, “Mr. President, the last four years there were times I’m sure you thought it was pretty dark, but look what God has done,” Graham said directly to Trump before the prayer. “We praise him and give him glory.”

Kenneth Copeland, also a child of Evangelicals, warned people that if they did not vote for Trump that Jesus has a special punishment for them. These type apostate teachings are not aligned with God’s will nor are in the spirit of grace. These are the feelings of men who have no understanding of God or His word; to worship a man to the point of believing God has shown special favor with him when His will is completely opposite their works.

However, the disregard for the major things of God and focusing on only a few things resembles what Jesus said to the Pharisees in Matthew 23:24 which says; “Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.” And the verse before when Jesus talks about them focusing on paying tithes but forgetting the weightier matters of the law, such as judgment, mercy and faith, verse 23. Instead, they are convincing themselves that the work being done by this new administration far outweighs any other commandment or will that God has enforced in the world, in addition to rejecting the call for mercy by the Catholic Bishop at the National Prayer Service.

For instance, in the first few weeks of this term, the President and his sidekick Elon Musk have forced major changes to government operations under the guise of them “draining the swamp,” or “finding and eliminating waste from government spending,” but in reality, they are disrupting the flow of government operations for millions of people, foreign and domestic. They are firing people who have worked for years in their positions forcing people to return to the office to work instead of working from home, relocate, or accept severance pay to resign.

In doing so, they have halted payrolls, cut AID to many organizations, including some religious institutions and nonprofits, including farmers who rely on government subsidies to run their farms and get food to the nation. They are proposing taking benefits from Medicaid recipients, (which were halted for a few days), veterans, disabled and mentally challenged people, and threatening to stop Social Security payments that go out to millions of elderly people who depend on those funds. But again, the Evangelical churches and MAGA conservatives are promising this will not happen. But it has started happening against their promises and is in the plans for the future according to project 2025 and the hardline conservative nationalist.

Federal judges are issuing orders warning the administration to stop what they are doing because it is causing turmoil, but so far to no avail. The administration is taking it upon themselves to usurp authority over the courts and blatantly ignoring the Constitution.

“A federal judge in Rhode Island on Monday said that the Trump administration had violated his order halting a sweeping federal funding freeze and ordered the government to “immediately restore frozen funding.”

"The Defendants now plea that they are just trying to root out fraud. But the freezes in effect now were a result of the broad categorical order, not a specific finding of possible fraud," McConnell wrote. "The broad categorical and sweeping freeze of federal funds is, as the Court found, likely unconstitutional and has caused and continues to cause irreparable harm to a vast portion of this country."

“The OMB memo, which was later rescinded, directed federal agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to obligation or disbursement of all Federal financial assistance, and other relevant agency activities that may be implicated" by Trump's executive orders, including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernmental organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal.”

“In his ruling last month, McConnell found those directives appeared to fall outside the scope of the president's authority. “Federal law specifies how the Executive should act if it believes that appropriations are inconsistent with the President’s priorities — it must ask Congress, not act unilaterally,” he wrote.”

Even after the clear threat of upending the Constitution, the Evangelical church believes God is directing this administration to do what they are doing. The fact that this administration is harming more people so far than helping, begs the question of whether this is the will of God, or of men. Following after the rule of law has always been a value of the conservative political stand for years, but this is not following the law, it is changing the law - and Constitution - for reasons anyone can see as a hostile takeover of the country to produce a dictator, or King, according to Evangelicals.

Again, international AID to less wealthy countries have been cut off, while many religious institutions and nonprofits rely on that money to go overseas for outreach ministries and to help feed the poor and the sick, but for some reason them not being able to do this any longer does not seem to bother the Evangelical church. In fact, they are more concerned about overturning “The Johnson Amendment [which] is a provision in the U.S. tax code, since 1954, that prohibits all 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations from endorsing or opposing political candidates.”

So basically, they are more concerned with investing their money into politics to gain more power than to help feed the poor and sick, in this country and abroad. This is a clear desertion of the gospel of Christ and a move toward secularism of the world. Not only do they get to not pay taxes, but they can use whatever money that have collected from their church members to donate toward men to run the government. But in a find out moment, they will be forced to use church money to travel overseas instead of getting grant money from the government.

Other executive orders they have come to embrace and make excuses for are mass deportations and the imprisonment of those deportees into the Guantanamo Bay prison camp; the possible overturing of birthright citizenship, which the courts have also blocked because it’s unconstitutional; the enforcing of anti-Christian laws and prosecution from government, businesses or individuals who are accused of mistreatment of Christian establishments. This is definitely against God’s will because He does not force the gospel onto anyone. “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” Matthew 10:14. He did not say to sue or call the cops on them.

This administration has released criminals back into society who otherwise should have remained in jail for the crimes committed on January 6th and the attempted government insurrection. Jesus was against any kind of physical violence, yet, Evangelicals have not spoken up about this perversion of justice. Instead, they remain quiet like they do on every other ungodly act that has been ungodly committed by this ungodly administration.

Furthermore, this administration has threatened a possible takeover of our neighboring country, Canada, and have brought a state of confusion and fear on the Canadian people. Instead of a friendly trade partner and neighbor, we now have a country betrayed and preparing for the threat of a war. This is not God’s will, for He is not the author of confusion. Trump has also threatened to take Greenland from the country of Denmark, retaken the Panama Canal (for no good reason), broke from the World Health Organization and is attempting to shut down the CDC (Center for Disease Control) from reporting or warning the nation.

These disassociations from the world of health will surely bring more illness and maybe death to the people of the country if he allows this order to stand. But, again, all these things are ok with the Evangelical church, as long as they can gain more money and power under this administration and force-convert millions to obey their false gospel. These are testimonies from Evangelical leaders themselves. “For this, Trump has received glowing accolades from Christian nationalists who are thrilled that their allies are now in control.

“Right-wing pastors Brooks Potteiger and Joshua Haymes of Pilgrim Hill Reformed Fellowship, a far-right church located outside of Nashville, TN, that is aligned with Christian nationalist pastor Douglas Wilson and counts Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth as a member, are equally thrilled.”

"Winning, winning, winning," said Haymes during a recent podcast. "It's a good time to be a conservative, but [also] a Christian; to see the law of our land starting to comport more and more with the word of God." But it is not aligning with the word of God, far from it.

“William Wolfe, a former Trump administration official and radical Christian nationalist, is likewise elated about the fact that Trump is filling his news administration "with people who are our guys."

"Trump 2.0 is shock and awe, pursuing a fantastic conservative and right-wing agenda that Christians absolutely can and should be excited about," Wolfe recently rejoiced.

“During a recent episode of the "Contra Mundum" podcast, C. Jay Engel gloated that representatives of the online right are now in power.” And in all the glorying of this administration, many of them have suffered personal persecution and a disconnect with family and friends over their support of this man and his agenda. “Vincent James and Rebecca Hargraves admit that they have basically "completely destroyed" their lives by being unabashed white nationalists, but claim it was all worth it so that others can now "talk about the Jews on Twitter": "We were like the civil rights activists."

They care more about having power and influence in the government instead of teaching and preaching the gospel of Christ. They are proud to have right wing voices and opinions be seen and heard by the president and they believe this is all the will of God. This administration has cut funding from FEMA, the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security and other government agencies that would otherwise hold wayward politicians accountable, protect national security, and force criminal organizations to abide by the law.

But for some reason, Evangelicals do not see this end of the bargain and still double down on their dedication and love for this man. They do not care that he has not addressed not one issue he said he would during his campaign, such as bringing down prices, the cost of living, and helping workers by bringing jobs back. None of his executive orders included any of the things he promised, except for tariffs; but all his orders that have wreaked havoc and caused chaos. But they still love him. Even after he announced that he would move the Gazans out of Palestine and build a resort for the wealthy to vacation. The thought and act of ethnic cleansing did not bother them either.

They care more about banning transgenders from women’s sports, dismantling pronouns and gender ideology yet, they do not realize that God has punished these people already and does not need their help.  In Romans 1:24 it reads, “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie…For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:” verse 25.

They stay focused on these culture war issues and ignore all the other ungodly orders he is passing, as if they never existed or need the attention of people who claim to be Christians. Apparently, they see no wrong in any of these things but in their minds, this is making America Great Again. In addition to forcing private companies to remove DEI policies because they are against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of any one who is apparently not a white, Christian male. They are ok with this and the fact that this administration has given over control of the country to the wealthiest man in the world.

They forget, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10. It is money that is at the root of this drastic and hasty change. They claim to be searching and rooting out wasteful government spending, but are they? No one knows what is actually going on. But the country is starting to feel the effects of the policies and many more people are growing agitated.

To top things off, many of the Evangelical movement have started to take notice after “President Donald Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast this morning, where he announced that his longtime faith adviser Paula White will be heading up White House Faith Office, just as she did during his first term in office, when she treated her position like an unofficial arm of his reelection campaign.” Some Evangelicals are not happy with this pick.

More on Paula White:

“In the wake of Trump's loss in the 2020 election, White held multiple emergency prayer services to battle the "demonic confederacies" that were supposedly trying to steal the election.

When that didn't work, White joined Trump at the Jan. 6 rally that preceded the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, where she prayed that God would give rallygoers a “holy boldness” and that “every adversary” would “be overturned right now in the name of Jesus.” She said of Trump, “I secure his purpose. I secure his destiny.”

White has repeatedly declared that her mere presence in the White House makes it "holy ground" and warned that to oppose Trump is to oppose God.”

She clearly reflects the overall sentiment of the Evangelical church when she warns people to not turn against Trump. This is heading into the sin of idolatry, which the Evangelical church has given itself over to. They clearly worship this man and have left God and the teachings of Christ.

“Upon taking office less than a month ago, President Donald Trump immediately unleashed a blitzkrieg attack, filling his administration with far-right ideologues whose primary qualification is personal loyalty to him while setting techbro oligarch Elon Musk loose to wreak havoc upon the federal government.

"What we're experiencing right now is the result of many, many faithful Christians praying—actually praying—and then actually getting to work on the ground," Haymes added. "The wind is at our back. It's time to draw swords and go full force into battle."

These people have truly fallen from grace and landed on the ground floor of idolatry and hypocrisy. They have turned their head, buried it in the sand, and completely ignored what is being done to the country and to people’s actual lives, and holding to a delusion that more likely satisfies their self-righteousness, religious corruption, false doctrine and divinations they proclaim daily.

As time goes on and the reality sets in, they will soon have to face the fact they were lied to, deceived by the devil, and led astray by another, unreal Jesus figure. But by the grace of God, He always has room for redemption. But if they refuse to repent of their idolatry, they will surely go down with the country and deeper into hell.
