The "Rapture" Teachings Are Not Correct!

The Rapture is an event Christians regard as the day when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for His church, the body of Christ. The event unfolds like this: it will be a normal day and the world will be operating as every other day, when suddenly all Christians will disappear from the very spot they are standing before the eyes and to the amazement of anyone around them.

If the Christian happens to be driving a car, the car will veer out of control after it is abandoned. If two people are standing at a water cooler and one is a Christian, the Christian will miraculously disappear and their clothes will drop to the floor.

Where will they go? They "shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and those who are not Christians, or did not have Jesus as their Savior (according to the popular doctrine) will be left standing and wishing they had received Him.

From that time, the world will go into total chaos trying to understand this phenomenon. Husbands and wives, children, co-workers and friends will suffer the lost of loved ones to a force beyond their understanding. While this event is suppose to bring many to a realization that Christ is real, there will also be many skeptics attempting to explain this event in scientific terms.

Church leaders have accepted this rendition of how the Lord, at His Second Coming, will come to receive His people and leaders have termed it the Rapture. Bible scholars have written books, correlated together through biblical doctrine to confirm the same theory. As a result of this acceptance, Christian stores sale merchandise like tee-shirts and bumper-stickers that blurb witting sayings about the Rapture, such as "in the event of a Rapture, this car will be out of control," and "beam me up Jesus."

The Christian world has settled with this explanation of the Second Coming of the Lord and not many of today's church leaders have searched for anything deeper. However, when pondering this theory seriously, and in terms of the abilities and power of God, the Rapture theory cannot possibly reveal what will really happen. Inevitably, there will be a Second Coming of Christ, and true Christians will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord, because this is what the Bible says, but it will not happen as scholars say it will and churchgoers expect. They left out a few obviously logical details.

First, the word "Rapture" is not in the Bible at all. This fact automatically subtracts from the theory and blissful description the word Rapture imparts, which is joy, ecstasy, and the bliss of a seventh heaven, which sounds good and what the scholars intended to provoke, a state of ecstasy. Nevertheless, is this ecstasy what the Second Coming will bring?

Despite man's fantastic imagination and wishful thinking, along with his misinterpretation of God's Word, the Second Coming of Christ - according to the Bible- will only be blissful to those Jesus comes for. The day will begin as normal, but a preceding event must first take place before the His arrival. In fact, this preceding event will be the reason He comes again.

Scholars seem to view Jesus as a magician who performs feats of "the eye being quicker than the hand" leaving the audience astounded, which is where they make their mistake. Though the Lord does astound people, He rarely does it with showy antics. God works the opposite way of man's mind, which is why men cannot perceive Him wholly.

When a person is looking for Him to come from the left, He comes from the right. When they look for Him from the east, He comes from the west. In the case of the Rapture, or Second Coming, Christians are expecting to be taken before the eyes of the world leaving the world in repentance and shame, but when the Lord returns to gather His people, the rest of the world will not see it because it is the soul, not the body that He is coming for.

The scripture says that, "flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption" (1 Corinthians 15:50). If He comes for the soul and not the body, any logical person would reason that in the case of the Rapture, the clothes would not be the only things that fall to the ground; if the soul is gone then the body will fall also. And if there are 50 million Christians in the world, there will be 50 million dead bodies on the ground. Though this too may seem like an alternate Rapture theory, neither is this what will happen.

Many church leaders will quote the scripture that says, "we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye" (1 Corinthians 15:51, 52), to justify that the body will be taken and then changed in mid air once we meet the Lord. However, the scripture also says that this body is of the earth must return from whence it came, back to the earth, therefore, how can the body be changed and returned to the earth at the same time? This is where believers must study the Word and pray fervently for understanding.

Many church leaders know that Christians do not study, as they should - and neither do they -so they continue to teach this illogical and imaginative theory, neither themselves searching for deeper meaning. Well, what is the deeper meaning?

In Romans chapter 7, vs.-25, Paul uncovers a plot that his flesh has set for his spirit man. He discovers a war in his members, in which the will of his flesh is warring against the will of the Holy Spirit within him, bringing him into captive to the laws of sin and unrighteousness. In deeper meaning, Paul reveals the two natures of humankind, the fleshly and the spiritual being within man: the flesh being the body and the Holy Spirit in man being a reflection of the person's soul.

One who has received the gift of the Holy Spirit has a desire from the Spirit to conform their soul into what God desires them to be. This is where Paul found a serious fight, to regain control of and the destiny of his soul. The Holy Spirit is the power that will "Rapture" the soul of the Christian and if there is no Holy Spirit in the Christian, the soul of the person is then lost.

The Lord is not interested in the flesh because the flesh is that which he wants to destroy. Therefore, if the flesh is left to die on earth it is no great lost.

If one understands that there are two natures within a single person, especially and actually, in a Christian, then they must realize that both the body and the soul cannot return when the Lord comes to receive His people. Furthermore, it is natural and written law that the body must return to the earth from whence it came because it was sown from the earth and cannot bare the image of the heavenly (1 Corinthians 15:44- 49).

So now, where are we in terms of the "Rapture" theory? If suddenly the Lord returns one day, and He - because of His own word - cannot take the body because we as Christians "must put off this body" and 50 million dead bodies around the world appears nowhere in the written word of God as prophesy, then the Rapture theory has no validity.

Other church leaders will argue the point that the scripture says at the coming of the Lord, "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left" (St. Matthew 24:40, 41).

They use these scriptures to justify that the Rapture theory is accurate according to what the Bible says. However, how accurate and God-like is this concept. What is its actual meaning? In the parable, it may seem that there are two people together doing whatever it is they are doing, but spiritually, it is only one person but with the two natures, Paul talked of in Romans chapter seven when he explains the war of the flesh and of the spirit.

In Corinthians chapter 15, the scripture says that there is a natural man and there is a spiritual man, and that the natural must come before the spiritual in all things (vv.46). We as humans were born first of the flesh, of the natural body, and when we are born again we are born of the spirit and have a spiritual body, or are attempting to build a spiritual body. When a person has gone through the second birth, by being born again of water and of the spirit, they are daily attempting to change the inner-man or fleshly-man into a spiritual man, thus there is a war within their souls of the two natures.

In the Second Coming of the Lord, He will take the spiritual man and leave the natural. He will take the reborn-man and leave the sinner man. This is the revelation of the field in St. Matthew 24. The one will be taken and the other left. The spiritual man will be taken and the natural man left behind. This biblical theory and revelation makes void the theory of bible scholars who have not searched the spiritual depths of God.

Following this train of thought, it seems there will be dead bodies all over if God comes only for the spiritual man and not the natural. However, we must go deeper into the scriptures to find out what happens to the natural bodies when Jesus comes for His church, and what happens to the rest of the world who had not the new birth.

In 2 Peter 3: 4-10, the Bible explains that the world will not be destroyed by water the second time but by fire. It says "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with a fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up" (vv. 10).

Again, many preachers will relate this passage of scripture to the end, after the Great Throne Judgment, but the passage distinctly says "the day of the Lord" which is the day of Jesus, not God, and the day of Jesus is the day of the Second Coming.

So if on the day of the Lord the earth and the works of the earth, meaning all things made from the earth, will be burned up, that means that some force of an immense heat will cause this traumatic destruction of humankind. What could it be?

Either man will destroy himself with the inventions of nuclear arms, or some falling asteroid from space will hit the earth. Nevertheless, so God can remain a righteous God, He will not be the one to be blamed by man of man's destruction, but as written in the article Prepare to Survive, God will allow man to destroy himself.

If man is foolish enough to erase God from humanity then he is foolish enough to destroy himself because he has not the knowledge of Him who created him. Therefore, it will be by man's own hands that the world will end. Afterward, God will judge the world.

Yes, there will be some world left because the Bible says that after that day there must remain three-fourths of the world and of the world's population (Revelation 8:7-12). This begins the tribulation period. Humanity will attempt to rebuild and go on but there will be no Christians - as the evil man desires - and there will be no Jesus, nor a portion of His spirit to receive, for He will remove His spirit from the earth.

There will be only one religion and one god to worship, which will be the beast, and all those who did not receive the spirit of God. This is when those who thought they were worshipping God will scream into the air "Lord, Lord," from St. Matthew 7:21-23.

In theory, the world will not know that the Lord has returned because the too will be under heavy attack from whatever fervent heat it will be that strikes the earth. No one will know that the Second Coming has taken place but those whom Jesus has come to receive.

The church will never get the glory and attention they are claiming from the event of the Second Coming because their bodies and those of the world will be burned together. The spiritual man will be taken and the natural man will be left. The body will return to the dust from whence it came and the soul will return to God. This is the truth about the Rapture.
