The Holy Ghost Heals Mentally, Emotionally, and Physically

Few preachers talk about the all-embracing powers of the Holy Ghost. The Spirit not only opens an entrance into the Kingdom of God for salvation and heavenly places on earth, but He digs deep into the psychological realm of the mind and the biology of the body and heals lifetime traumas and physical ailments. The believer needs faith in the powers of God.

The scripture reads, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” St. John 14:16. The Comforter does just that; comforts the believer by replacing negative lifetime experiences overtime and bringing the believer into a better place mentally, emotionally and physically.

Once received, the believer undergoes a process of change in attitude toward life, themselves and others, but the Spirit also deals with whatever personal deficiencies they have dealt with throughout their life. This includes childhood traumas, physical ailments, heartbreak, insecurities and other emotional defects that have warped them and altered their normal state of being.

The Spirit breaks the yokes of mental and psychological problems such as depression, waywardness, low self-esteem, covetousness and jealousy, immaturity; and even some new age mental disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disease, seizures and many other mental challenges that are normally scientifically diagnosed and treated with medication.

Despite what some say, these are basically roaming spirits that possess people and drive them to do ungodly things and live ungodly lifestyles, but they can be delivered. Phobias also, such as abnormal behaviors or obsessive-compulsive disorders, fears of abandonment, co-dependency, and childhood memories that haunt the mind can all be erased and replaced with the peace of the Lord.

Once received, the believer finds many physical ailments taken away such as lifelong back pains, migraine headaches, blood diseases or any organ damage that is a result of some genetic sickness or worldly misfortunes. Sometimes the yoke is broken quickly at the point of receiving the Spriit and sometimes it may take a few years to completely disappear. But the believer will notice the change overall in time.

When Jesus healed the lunatic who was possessed with a legion of devils, the scripture reads, “And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.” Mark 5:15. The Spirit will restore the mind into its proper place and rid the believer of past psychological burdens.

Notice, it also helped the man clothe himself properly, become more self-disciplined, and able to communicate with those around him in a normal way. The Spirit not only deals with the mental and physical state of the believer, but it helps the believer see life through a different interpretation, to see things as they really are and not what the world has trained them.

“…even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:16, 17. The Holy Ghost dwells within the person to change that person through unbridled truth, the process of spiritual healing, and revelations of how to gradually overcome worldly influence.

If a person was raised a certain way by generational and family tradition that was contrary to the will of God, the Comforter overrides the false and worldly teachings and replaces it with truth and the right way. People learn to reeducate themselves in the Word and will of God and goes on to live a better life and to minister to others the right ways of the Kingdom.

The Comforter teaches the believer the ways of Christ and of God as long as the believer is attuned to the Spirit and are willing to resist the things of the world. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” St. John 14:26.

As long as the believer reads and studies the Word, and maintains a constant prayer life in the Spirit, the Spirit will be a Comforter to them through the Words and promises of God. The Word breaks yokes of bondage so the believer can escape the influences of the world. It is a walking guide to life to keep the believer from temptation, ungodly behavior, and the lies and deceptions of the world.

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19. Aside from the powers to overcome deadly attacks of the enemy, the Spirit protects believers from people who mean to hurt them or to destroy their lives. The emotional state of the believer becomes hardened to the world and they are set at peace through the power of the Holy Ghost.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” St. John 14:27. Pray for the Holy Ghost, not only for the promise of salvation and deliverance from evil, but to heal the mind, body, and soul.
