The actual problems facing the country were not addressed by the current president during his speech. It was more bluster of bullying, doubling down, and the continued lies about the founding of the country. And it was atrocious for him to claim the American people as a whole voted for a new mandate when he only received below 50% of the popular vote.
His paid entourage of clappers showed up to meet the moment of his false claims and to give praise to Musk, who more people oppose than any human throughout the country and world. Apparently, he insists on carrying out the destruction of the government system claiming to be the Deep state, (when it is now consisting of his own people).
And he once again zeroed in on immigrants with further threats of emptying the country of them by stepping up enforcement. He also doubled down on law and order with the veiled threats of empowering the police and enforcing the death penalty for cop killers instead of imposing punishment on cops who kill innocent people.
He said nothing about the interruption of social safety nets such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid or offered no assurances to save them for the sake of the nation’s poorest. Instead, he focused on nonissues such as men in women sports, gender pronouns, wokeness, DEI and CRT, gathering more applause from his apathetic and racist sycophants.
He had no new ideas on the Ukraine war but doubled down on taking Greenland and the Panama Canal, and he furthered the drama about tariffs on China, Mexico, and Canada. His only mention of helping the economic plight of the people came through his hopes in tariffs to someday lower cost of living, which economist refute daily.
This man has no concern about the people in the country but is insistent on helping the wealthiest people by cutting programs the people need and giving any savings to his wealthy cronies. Nothing about this speech suggested bipartisanship, but of further division and the faint sign of a new authoritarian government. The future of this country looks grim in the face of this address to the nation.
