Moving to another state is not a crime except to state lawmakers that make it a crime. But on the level of humans being free born to inhabit the earth, it is not unlawful for someone to leave one country and move to another.
The argument from the right about deporting immigrants is that they are breaking the law, hence the term illegal aliens. This is only applicable to those who acknowledge the laws written against them. It is, in essence, a weak argument because it is a stipulated man-made rule.
This argument is just an excuse to cover for bigotry, fear and hatred of “the other.” The law does not have to exist if white America does not want it to and they could simply learn to respect other cultures and use the migration of others to prosper the nation in a positive way, as they did in the past when Europeans were coming in to Ellis Island.
Instead, they choose to outlaw people coming here from browner countries because they have been told that migrants are a threat to their livelihoods, their families, and their safety. They are being lied to being told that immigrants are dangerous, rapist and thieves but this is far from the truth. Regardless of the truth, they refuse to believe the truth and choose the lies told to them.
This country can easily streamline the immigration system to allow people in legally by hiring more judges and processors followed by a system to place immigrants into certain jobs and communities. They can still maintain law and order among them the same way they handle the naturalized citizens. Immigrants are not criminals; only the laws make them criminals.
