Unless race and other identities are taken off all applications for jobs, housing, insurance, credit or other, then the removal of DEI has no backbone. It is simply continued bigotry and gives a face to the hiring processes and other qualifications. If they do not remove these terms, then meritocracy (being hired based on merit), has no legitimacy.
Businesses that place government favor over the unbiased hiring of their employees, should be boycotted and ran out of business. This has to change and now is the time to make that change. The people must reject discrimination in all its forms and not just for the agendas of aggressive government administrations.
Yet, they will never do this because it will mean meritocracy would be an actual practice and race, gender or sexuality would not truly matter. But they cannot and will never remove these identities because they need a way to discriminate and they are not ready to relinquish their practices of prejudice.
According to the law, “Companies may only ask for this information for purposes like tracking diversity and inclusion efforts, but should keep it separate from the hiring decision itself.” Therefore, if DEI is no longer needed, nor should these questions be asked. Do not answer these questions if asked for any application; jobs, housing, loans, education or otherwise.
Furthermore, the boycotting of corporations that have bowed to the tyranny of the government who forced them to obey their rules, should persist. Companies have no duty to submit to a political party that oversteps their authority. Private companies are owned by private citizens and shareholders and should remain open to the public and not beholden to authoritarianism.
The people must revolt against this tyrannical government and stand strong on boycotting businesses that brownnose for the sake of tax cuts and still not take care of their employees. Money is what matters and their profit margins, not obedience to tyranny. But if they want to compromise their profits in lieu of tax breaks, let them suffer the consequences of the public denouncing their goods.
