Threats of social security benefits being slashed or running out of funds are excuses for those who want to privatize the system. If they eliminate the program, there will be massive protest and anger spread throughout the country.

The elderly would go into poverty along with millions of disabled people and families would have to foot the bills. This is a tragedy in the making and an extremely foolish economic move. So, it is unlikely they will totally eliminate the program, they just want to privatize it and they are preparing people for this change. And the news media is helping them by publishing doom and gloom.

They wealthy uses the media to publish arguments camouflaged in economic language with slanted facts and stats that point to a need to shut down the system. Warning that it has to be done or else the country will fail. This is a lie and an old talking point of wealthy conservatives.

Once they privatize SS, they can then charge fees, apply more penalties, and apply conditions to receive the benefit, such as working 20 hours a week to receive more or risk losing maybe half of the monthly allotment. They will treat it like a true entitlement program such as welfare or Medicaid, because this is what they think it actually is.

These people are ruthless, greedy money-grubbing barons robbing the people slowly but surely. They have not considered the backlash they will face when nursing homes start closing because they are not receiving SS funds from their residences, and they are not thinking about the millions of angry people who will come looking for those responsible for this blatant theft.

These people are cruel, greedy and do not care about how people will survive once they take their money. The most foolish thing is their lack of aforethought and their callousness toward people who have worked hard all their lives. This is not going to end well for the wealthy.

“Social Security faces a significant financial challenge with its trust fund projected to be depleted in 2035, potentially leading to a 23% reduction in benefits if no action is taken. This is due to a growing number of beneficiaries and a declining ratio of workers to beneficiaries.”
