New Versions of the Bible are Deceptive

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:20,21).

Many people will argue about the authenticity of the Holy Bible by saying that the current version (King James Version) was tampered with or rewritten by men during that time era and that God’s words were changed or that some books were lost.

The fact is, the King James Version was merely translated into English from the Hebrew language losing little, if any, of the inspirational meaning of God’s words or messages. The messages were past down from ancient writings that go all the way back to ancient Kemet writings of The Book of the Dead (The Ma’at), and Egyptian scrolls. The central messages were never changed or reinterpreted but translated by men into various languages.

The Holy Bible and other religious books and writings reflect the concept of God and His instruction to humanity. It explains humanity’s relationship to the earth and nature, and to his relation to time, spiritual inspiration and communications with a Supreme Being.

Many cultures and nations adopted ways to communicate with God and recorded those experiences on scrolls, walls, and through rituals and traditions, one main way is by prayer and publication of His words. God has always communicated with humanity and written testaments have always been the chosen way that works for both humanity and God.

Like a recipe past downs from generation to generation, the King James Version of the Bible never actually changed God’s message, it was only copied and updated for comprehension and preservation. Being the last and best version of God’s ancient words, it has stood the test of time for more than 500 years. The problem of Bible versions has only come into view in the last 50 years.

Newer versions of the King James Bible include:

•    Amplified Bible
•    American Standard Version
•    New International Version
•    New King James Version
•    Revised Standard Version

The list goes on to also include Bibles for different groups of people such as the Woman’s Bible, Kids versions, Gay Bibles and so on. The problem with the many new versions is that from the beginning of the “New Version” movement, the words of the Bible were changed to reflect standard English so people could understand it better. It became difficult for people to understand the Old English languages so scholars revised the King James Version into words people could better understand.

The problem with that is the changes lost the meaning and power of God’s words. For instance, here are some examples of the changes being made that do not reflect the true meanings of God’s original words:

Examples:

2 Corinthians 11:5 of the King James Version reads: “For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles”.

In this verse Paul was merely making an honest appraisal of his calling in Christ; putting himself on an even par with the rest of the apostles. Many new versions alter his words to sound as if he were speaking sinfully.

•    NIV: But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those super-apostles.
•    NLT: But I don’t think I am inferior to these super apostles.
•    NWT: …superfine apostles.
•    AMP: inferior to these [precious] extra-super [false] apostles.

Here this verse is marred by an alteration that sounds like Paul is getting unpleasant, and making a snooty statement about his brothers in Christ. The Amplified even has him calling them false apostles! If you think that was an inappropriate change to the text just read on; it was nothing compared to the next example!

Another example:

Galatians 5:10-12 of the King James Version reads: “I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11. And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased. 12. I would they were even cut off which trouble you.”

The context of this verse concerns these believers being hindered in their faith by people trying to get them to return to keeping the law. In this passage Paul states his earnest desire that those who were troubling these believers would be cut off (separated) from them. Maybe the words of Habakkuk had come to his remembrance: …the flock shall be cut off from the fold (Hab. 3:17 KJV). Now notice the horrible injustice done to this text in the new versions:

•    NWT: I wish the men who are trying to overturn you would get themselves emasculated.
•    NASB: I wish that those who are troubling you would even mutilate themselves.
•    NRSV: I wish those who unsettle you would castrate themselves!
•    NIV: As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves.

In case you might not know it, ‘emasculation’ is the removal of all evidence of masculinity. Are they telling us these are words Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; that he wished some people would go castrate themselves?

Would Paul have made such an uncomely statement and in his next sentence exhort them to ‘by love serve one another’; and then in his next remind them to ‘love thy neighbor as thyself’? And later in the same letter inform them the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, etc.?

Another example:

Proverbs 18:1 of the King James Version reads: “Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”

At times a desire comes upon the heart of a believer to step aside from the affairs of this world in order to seek after, and commune with the wisdom of God. This is a time of intimacy and growth. Such is the theme of this Scripture. This positive and instructive exhortation is transformed into a negative declaration that to separate oneself is selfish and rebellious!

•    NASB: He who separates himself seeks his own desire, He quarrels against all sound wisdom.
•    NIV: An unfriendly man pursues selfish ends; he defies all sound judgment.
•    NKJV: A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.
•    ASV: He that separateth himself seeketh (his own) desire, And rageth against all sound wisdom.
•    NWT: One isolating himself will seek (his own) selfish longing, against all practical wisdom he…
•    NRSV: …one who lives alone is self-indulgent, showing contempt for all who have sound judgment.

The messages of God grows very dim if we follow the reasoning found in these modern Bibles. It would probably be more accurate to call them alterations than translations! Some even go so far as to call them the ‘per’versions.

New American Standard Version (NASB): Verse removed.
New World Translation (NWT - Jehovah Witness Bible): Verse removed.
Revised Standard Version (RSV): Verse removed.
New Century Version (NCV): Verse removed.

These re-writers wanted to do away with the biblical teaching of baptism! In the NIV, some other verses that are completely missing are:

Mat. 12:47, Mat. 17:21, Mat. 18:11, Mat. 23:14, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, Luke 17:36, Luke 23:17, John 5:4, Acts 8:37, Acts 24:7, Acts 28:29, I John 5:7.

The changes and alterations of the King James Version is apostate teaching and “Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth,” 1 Timothy 6:5. Therefore, it is important to a person’s own soul salvation that they remain in the original King James Version of the Bible instead of being led astray by the new versions.

The various “New Standard” versions incorporate man’s words and eliminate God’s words. Whether people realize it or not, the scribes of the King James Version captured the grammatical prose of the scriptures that has true meaning and power. The Bible says what it says the way it says it for a reason.

Today’s preachers succumb to the mental laziness of church members by encouraging them to change their versions. No beginning believer will get the true essence of God reading these new versions; they will only learn more worldly mindsets instead of gaining the mind of Christ.
