Sometimes You Gotta Trust God
Sometimes people, society and the world ask a lot from us, and sometimes it seems like more than we can handle. But there is always a way out to those who believe and love the Lord.
The scripture tells us that, “God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Sometimes people, society and the world ask a lot from us, and sometimes it seems like more than we can handle. But there is always a way out to those who believe and love the Lord.
God is able to do for you things He does not do for those in the world. For example, in the book of Daniel, chapter 2 when king Nebuchadnezzar demanded that someone tell him his dream that he himself forgot, and if they could not, they would be killed. Of course this was, and is, an impossible feat for anyone of the world, but not for Daniel.
God revealed to Daniel not only the dream Nebuchadnezzar had, but also gave the interpretation thereof.
Daniel chapter 2 reads:
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.
We have all been deeply conditioned by the world to think and behave as the world expects us to. And we react to certain situations the way the world expects. But those reactions are not always what God expects from us. We must relearn many things if we are to do the will of God and to receive the things God has for us.
God made the mind and God can control the mind. If you allow Him, he can recondition you to do and know things that He expects and not what the world expects, as in the case with Daniel.
Isaiah 48 reads:
17 Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
It’s sometimes difficult to see things God’s way and to do things God’s way because we have been taught by the world. Many times we will not do what God wants because the world is watching and we would seem strange doing the opposite of what we would normally do. It may even seem wrong to us to try something contrary to mainstream society. But sometimes we have no choice.
People in the world do what the world expects. They listen to others in the world and ignore any advice from people of God or from the Bible. Even when God talks in the ear through the spirit, the flesh will resort to what it is use to and react from years of conditioning.
Trusting in God’s way can be a hard task but if practiced more often, it makes more sense in the long run. Patience is the key and understanding what God’s will is helps a person to see the long term results. God gives understanding to those who seek it and he reveals dark secrets to those who seek wisdom and knowledge unlike the world’s knowledge.
1 John 4 reads:
5 They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
What you know as normal is not always right. Listen to God, read the Word, and learn to overcome the world. Pray for understanding of God’s will because when the world asks an impossible thing from you, you will be able to trust God to walk you through.
