The Abominations and Hypocrisy of Republican Christianity
Operating behind the agenda of Republican politics are the Evangelical Christians and the conservative religious right. In a juvenile attempt to push what they deem as God’s law into the public political spectrum, they are forgetting the weightier matters.

“Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone” (St. Matt. 23.23).
The above concept translated into layman’s terms, means, the American Christian church are focused on some matters but ignoring others, which diminishes the purpose and authority of God’s law. There are two main positions the religious leaders are taking on and using to help enforce laws in the nation, which are abortion and homosexuality.
They praise the administration for appointing judges to the Supreme Court who will outlaw these lifestyle choices, and in their small, boxed-in minds, they believe will bring the country to a right standing with God. However, though these two lifestyle choices are against the teachings of God and the Bible, there are many more sins committed within American life that they have not considered worthy of addressing.
One major abomination that has spread throughout American culture is guns and the violence that follows. Murder, is a foremost transgression to God as one of the main Commandments, yet the religious leaders are never heard from during times of gun crises. Mass shootings, domestic violence, police killings of innocent people, and neither does children mass killing their fellow classmates seem to move these people to action.
Adultery, another of the Commandments is a big thing with God as it violates His union of marriage. And though the religious leaders browbeat the public on the marriage of same sex couples, they look the other way when a man or woman in a marriage strays from their own spouse. In fact, many religious leaders themselves have committed this act many times over.
If these religious heretics were so concerned about enforcing God’s law, (as they are toward women who get abortions with punishment of the death penalty), they would have the same concern to enforce the same punishment on people who commit adultery, murder innocent people, and who abuse their spouse.
Greed and the idolatry and love of money is a major sin that causes pain and suffering in the lives of the masses, yet these religious leaders will punish the poor before they take one look at the wealthy people who create the conditions that causes suffering. The preachers and pastors themselves live lavish lives while flying over poverty-stricken neighborhoods on their way overseas to pander to their favorite countries.
Hatred in the form of race, religion, color and ethnicity has spread across the country and people are actually being killed in the name of race and religious nationalism, yet these religious leaders walk by the victims and indirectly enable the perpetrators. Injustice stinks at the highest levels of the American judicial system. People are imprisoned for menial crimes, locked out of the opportunities for their future and to provide for their families, yet religious leaders turn a blind eye to the injustice and call it law and order.
They blindly and proudly support a man who has caused harm to millions of families and sown terror into their hearts. They are perfect examples of the scripture that proclaims loudly; “having men's persons in admiration because of advantage” (Jude1:16). They are idols of an evil spirit and have put country before God.
“Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core” (Jude1:11).
These so-called preachers are disgusting. Yelling aloud about abortion and homosexuality while remaining silent on other abominations the country is committing. Lust, pornography, fornication, pedophilia (by priest), murder by law enforcement and the greed and massive income inequality; the mistreatment of refugees, the theft of the resources of low-income nations and the bullying and illegal wars waged upon defenseless nations are sins against humanity and God’s children.
Yet these religious leaders do not say a damn thing. “Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities” (Jude 1:7). These men are on their way to the same Hell they have pronounced upon others if they do not repent; and they will certainly die in their sins without mercy as they have shown no mercy.
