We got a clear preview of how MAGA politicians and followers will behave under a Harris presidency when the governor of Florida refused to acknowledge the call of the Vice President about the Hurricane headed to Florida.

History is about to repeat itself and unearth more of the same racial insults, disrespect for and obstruction to the office of the presidency, and all that mirrored the Obama presidency. Only this time a heavy taste of misogyny will come with it.

During the Obama term, Republican politicians refused to work with the president, rejecting any policy proposals his administration put forth, even to the detriment of their own constituencies. They changed the rules of years of precedence, filibustered and stalled every time they got a chance, and hurled racial epithets and insults toward the president and his wife.

Republican voters turned vile in their judgment of Obama and formed groups and movements designed to bring dysfunction and chaos to politics in the country. The Tea Party were the most racist and rebellious movement under Obama, and more resistant organizations formed to vindictively resist any advancement for American life. They did not care if their resistance hurt the country or not.

They hated being led by a Black man to the point they tore apart traditional politics and split the country into two, well defined groups of voters. The backlash to Obama caused an uprise when his term was up and the 45th presidential race started. The rebellious Republican voters saw a chance to voice their hate through the next president, Donald Trump, and here we are fighting off fascism in its worse, most racist and hateful form.

Now Kamala Harris is projected to become the 47th president. There is no doubt resistance will intensify – as is clear through the behavior of the Florida Governor – and racism and misogyny will too. Nothing will get done that will ease the financial and social condition of the country out of sheer spite on the back of the culture wars. Misinformation will spread farther and do more damage to the minds of voters, and political chaos will continue. But there is a bright side.

The power of unity and the desire for a change from the current chaos that may bring Harris to the White House under the push back against fascism and hate, will drown out the many voices of descent over time. The country will see clearly what direction they want to go and soon, the voices of racism and hate will give way to another wave of silent resistance. But that will not stop the wealthy from secretly planning their next attempt at a government takeover.

In the meantime, women and minorities need to prepare for oppressive laws being proposed, law suits opposing any advancements, and tons of misinformation about what the new president is doing. More of the same is to come but this time it may be more vile than what we have seen in the past because they hate to lose.
