Too many people believe that God places men in charge of world governments. They say this because they believe God is in charge of all things based on the scripture, “the earth is the Lord’s,” or other scriptures that proclaim the authority of God over the earth, humanity, and His omnipresence above all. Some use the scripture in Daniel 2:21, which reads, “and he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:”
False interpreters fail to understand that God only set up a few Kings in Israel – David, Saul, and Solomon – but left their choice of rulers to their own free will. The book of Chronicles show that many kings inherited the kingship from fathers or previous kings, not by appointment of God. And those kings choose themselves to be good or evil. Neither did He set up the kings of other nations. He would sometimes use those kings to punish the transgressions of Israel, such as Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar, but nowhere in the scriptures does it say that God appointed Kings of other nations to rule that nation.
False preachers claim that God put Donald Trump over the USA using the examples of how God dealt with Old Testament rulership and how he used some evil kings to punish Israel. They use Cyrus as their main example and How God used Cyrus to rebuild the house of Israel in Isaiah 45:1, which reads, “Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;” False preachers equate this passage to the rise of Trump over the USA. But the USA is not Israel by any comparison.
But this is not how God works in the New Testament. Under the New Covenant, God has anointed Jesus as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Revelation 19:16 proclaims this truth. Jesus is the Last and only king over all kings. God leaves free will to men of the earth to choose who they want as their leader. He does not rig elections of nations. This is foolishness. Many say that God placed Trump in charge of the USA to punish it, but neither is that true. They all neglect to acknowledge the fact that the devil places rulers all over the world, including inside the church, and his objective is always evil.
The devil offered the kingdoms of the world to Jesus in an attempt to seduce him after his 40 days fast; Matthew 4:1-11. Satan has ministers in the church. 2 Corinthians 11:14, 15 reads, “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.” Their works are judged on whether or not they chose to good or evil.
If what they say is true, that God appoints leaders of nations, then Herod, who sought to kill Jesus as a child and to slew all the children that were in Bethlehem could be interpreted as an act of God. “And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: and was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.” Matthew 2:13-15. It was prophesy fulfilled that God knew would happen, but He did not appoint Herod as King. To kill the children was Herod’s choice, not God’s work.
The kings of the earth today are men who align with the beast in the last days. They are not appointed by God. God does not appoint evil men to rule over humanity. That concept is a lie to get people to think Trump is of God. Now that He has shown himself to be an oppressive ruler, they want to switch from God appointing him as a Cyrus to some claiming Him being appointed to destroy or expand the USA. Both are lies because God does neither. Man has freewill and can choose his own rulers and destiny for judgment.
Revelation 19:19 says, “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.” These are evil kings ruling in the last days alongside the beast. God comes to destroy these evil men in the end and becomes the one king. “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 11:15.
The last trump is Jesus taking over the world and He then rules as the only king of the earth after destroying the evil kings of the earth and the image of the beast. God does not appoint evil presidents, governors, or rulers. He places good rulers as punishers of evildoers. “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.” 1 Peter 2:14. If they punish evildoers, they must be good rulers. The devil is the evil one and his mission is to do evil and deceive the world into believing his rule is of God. This is knowing the difference between the wheat and the tares, between good and evil, and many have confused the two.
The concept of predestination is one that many do not understand. All things happening now have been done already and God knows the outcome before it happens. He knows who will choose good and who will choose evil. He never directs their path but always gives them the free will to choose on their own. “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15.
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” James 1:13, 14.
