If all goes the way of MAGA, we the people will no longer live in a Democracy. They will dismantle it yet make the people believe that Democracy is still alive. We will have elections, but as in every other dictatorship, the people will never win again. Is this so hard to comprehend?
As time goes on, Civil and Human Rights will slowly be stripped away until we find ourselves unable to communicate with each other, look to non-profits and agencies of consumer protection, sue employers in court, or say what we want without being threatened with imprisonment, come up missing or murdered on the streets as people simply walk by as if just another day in the life.
Forget about protesting in the streets without being gassed or killed as a matter of national security. Long gone are the days of true free speech on social media Facebook pages and posts, independent media sources and Youtube channels, personal blogs and news commentary. These will be occupied by yes men and propaganda talking heads paid handsomely to lie. The people will be faced with prosecution if we say anything the dictator does not like and takes personal.
Talk about inflation. Life will be unaffordable to the working, corporate class slaves they will create, and families will not live paycheck to paycheck any longer, but live day to day on a whim. We will either work for less money than we do now, or die at the mercy of poverty and sickness through healthcare indifference. Remember, the oppressor does not believe we need healthcare and that homelessness is a lie.
There will be no affordable nothing; healthcare, housing, food, gas, insurance, child care or any of the things we take for granted and are complaining about right now. We will be misinformed by the media on the morning news daily, and told everything is good; that this is the new normal. And sadly, people will take it as true.
Stupid people will get stupider and educated people will be seen as insane, as enemies, and neutralized in society. Of course, people will get desperate and go after the ones they will now know are the true enemy; the wealthy. But by this time, all the wealthy will be controlling the country from an island, a bunker, or behind heavy security and a computer screen with drones and AI technology that took our jobs. We waited too long and did not take their words seriously.
What a bunch of chumps. We the people have asked to be ruled by a bunch of self-centered idiots who have no concept of what humanity is all about and who do not value life except as a Human Resource. The sad thing is, the people will actually think we live in a free society of Democracy with the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness when actually we will all be living in a shithole hell, we once thought not possible.
There will be people actually praising the new lifestyle under this new illusion of Democracy. Thinking and believing we have it better than other, under-developed countries. That the USA is the best thing coming and going while we cough up blood, search for food, and have to hide from the violence and regular mass shootings we have accepted as normal.
What a sad reality. History will record this generation as the most docile and ignorant people to ever live. They will wonder why we did not fight back or demand what we wanted over the minority of bullies. They will wonder why we did not withdraw from the corporate plantations by not spending and feeding their lust or working their long hours and RTO (return to office) mandates, sacrificing personal pleasures for the sake of our children and future. How come we allowed frail men with wounded egos to take control of our laws and voting booths and rights.
We could have restarted our own mom and pop businesses and employed each other instead of working for corporations that gouge. We could have opened credit unions, our own medical facilities to serve the sick, grew our own food on large plots of land instead of depending on greedy agricultural companies who poison our food.
We could have grouped together all activist lawyers, medical workers, teachers, and service workers to operate under our own state of being instead of living in an illusion under an iron fist. We can have our own by resisting the political power structure of these oligarchs. We need people of courage with a vision, and the determination to overthrow our overthrowers.
Unfortunately, the naysayers and pessimist of the world will find reasons and present statistics that say our aspirations are unrealistic and we must submit to the oppressors. They will convince the people that we are ok, well off and are living the American dream of exceptionalism and prosperity. What a damn shame.
