The key to not becoming a victim of projection or gaslighting is to have a profound understanding of what is true and an unrelenting stand of what you believe. An example is knowing a person is using drugs regardless of how many times they deny it and try to convince you and others that you are the one mistaken.
Drug use comes with evidence even though no one has actually ever seen the person use drugs. Evidence comes in many forms such as irregular behavior, missing valuables of others, and the users constant lack of money.
Projection is when the drug user adopts the arguments of the accuser and apply those arguments to the accuser. If lack of money is the topic, the user will question the accusers lack of money; they will accuse the accuser of stealing from others and behaving abnormally; all the evidence and behaviors they are displaying themselves.
If a person is not stable in their beliefs or does not stand strong on the truth, they will find themselves defending against the accusations of the user. They then become a victim of gaslighting. If the user can convince the accuser to defend against a lie the user has told, they have diminished their beliefs and undermined their intelligence.
When family members and friends are brought into the situation, they will gravitate either toward the lie or the truth without much research into the facts, but on hearsay alone. If they ever learn the actual truth or get the facts, some will either accept it or deny it. Those who accept the truth can see the facts, but those who reject the truth have chosen to ignore the facts.
American politics is drenched in projection and gaslighting to the point no one knows the truth and are constantly questioning what they believe and who to believe. This has caused a deep divide in the country among the population because truth and a base, moral belief system has been corroded to its core.
Therefore, there is a large portion of the population in denial of the truth and standing on a refusal of the facts. The only remedy for American society is a reboot to a base, moral believe system. Someone or a group of people will have to prove the truth with undeniable facts and isolate those who reject both. Projection and gaslighting must be destroyed.
