Look closely at the reasons many large retail box stores are closing their doors. News outlets report “Major retailers in the US have been forced to shut down stores due to millions of dollars in losses as rampant theft plagues big box stores across the country.”
They say that, “Along with brazen daylight thefts, self-checkouts have also made it easier for people to walk out without paying for items.” (Even though retail stores implemented the self-checkouts themselves).
Ask yourself, why are people stealing from these stores and why has this epidemic all of a sudden started within the last 2 years?
First, this is a simple case of psychological warfare between corporations and the public. Second, they are laying the ground for a republican president to come in and shout the phrase “Law and Order,” once the media has frightened the hell out of the public. And lastly, these corporations need more cheap labor from the prison industrial complex to supply their cheap goods to compete with China.
The game plan is to lay blame on the Democrats false notion of defunding the police. “Progressive district attorneys in cities like Chicago, New York, Portland and California have also been blamed for effectively legalizing shoplifing with either not prosecuting thefts under $950, or letting criminals off with a slap on the wrist.”
This all comes on the heels of the George Floyd murder and the resentment of conservatives toward the BLM protest and supposed riots, which were hyped by the same media. The root is buried deep within the psychological racist mentality of the wealthy. They want revenge against pandemic era financial loses, which is why they are currently gouging the public in rent, food cost, gas and their cheap products, i.e., the cost of living.
“In 2021 retailers lost a combined $94.5 billion to shrink, a term used to describe theft and other types of inventory loss. And organized retail crime incidents soared by 26.5 per cent in the same year, according to the 2022 National Retail Security Survey.”
This is not rocket science, it is a simple game of blame the victim and reward the oppressor. “Large retailers, including Target, Macy’s and Best Buy, are now making good on threats to shutter outlets if petty crime was not lowered.”
The media and corporations are in cahoots with each presidential election cycle in order to boost their own profits. If they can keep the social crime balanced enough to swing the economic pendulum both ways every four years, they are guaranteed profits, government subsidies, and a larger drain of the public’s finances.
The end result will be a Republican president elected, higher profits for corporations, a larger prison population, and more rogue vigilantes walking the streets believing they are protecting their freedoms. This is not going to end well for working people.
