Texas just passed mandatory bible reading lists for all public schools in the state, in addition to mandating the Ten Commandments be displayed. “The Republican-majority panel voted 9-1 to approve the reading list, which will become mandatory for all public schools in Texas starting in 2030.”
Some argue this is unconstitutional and violates the separation of church and state laws on the books, and advocates say it does not violate the constitution because it is in compliance with the 1st amendment. Both are wrong because religion should not become a political issue. Religion is a family issue, and the church should be the pillar of teaching religion to families and communities.
This push to force religion into the schools is nothing more than an admission that the church has failed the community. Church membership has been dwindling for decades and more so since the rise of church doctrine into politics within the past 10 years. The Christian Nationalist movement has blurred the lines between the two.
In an attempt to replenish their falling memberships, they have turned to the schools to indoctrinate and recruit children as young as kindergarten throughout to the high school years. Beliefs in God is a personal issue and choice. The scriptures say, “And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.” John 6:65.
Meaning, people cannot be forced to come to God, it must be divinely given to them by God. Not to mention that taxpayer monies are being used to fund this venture, regardless of rather or not the taxpayer wants to participate or want their children learning bible scriptures.
Their intentions may be good to introduce scripture to children at a young age, but the schools are not the place. Schools are for secular learning, and the church is for religious learning. Apparently, the churches are failing to teach and retain membership and are losing support of families.
The obvious reason for their lost is the mingling of politics and religion in the church. This has turned many people off. The indoctrination has pushed religious theory to the top of the government whereby we see how it can damage everything from domestic policy via discrimination to the support of wars around the world.
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” Revelation 22:17.
