Many Republican voters remain steadfast on voting for the same political party in a staunch stand against voting for a Democrat. Many say they would rather die or live in poverty rather than vote Democrat.
Even while the country drowns in corruption, hypocrisy, and immorality, that stems from Republican policies, they believe voting Democrat is equivalent to voting for the devil. However, this view has come from years of instilled propaganda into the minds of conservative Christians and traditional voting patterns passed down generations.
Pull yourselves up by the bootstraps, (many have no boots), family values, and small government have all been proven ineffective and destructive, and nothing more than smoke and mirrors. They reject the Democratic platform because of abortion and homosexuality by standing on Christian values, but if the Republicans ignore the teachings of Christ, they are all hypocrites.
They call Democrats socialist and communist having no idea what those terms actually mean. Not understanding that the US has operated as a capitalist nation held up by socialist policies since the New Deal. It worked for generations until Reagan came in and capitalist stormed the country with corporate power. Now bribery is legal.
The policies are actually what matter, but these people have convinced themselves that ideological tradition means more than actual policy that helps people. Republican policies have been proven ineffective over the past 50 years and have plunged the country into an oppressive, recessionary society over and over again. It is proven that when Republicans control the white house and Congress, the national debt increases and more people become unemployed, fall into poverty, and face dire challenges in healthcare, gun violence, and fiscal deprivation.
Trickle-down economics did not work because family income does not keep up with inflation; corporate powers increase over the worker and the rich has gotten richer, consumer protections are slashed, and consumer debt rises. They refuse to move forward into the future as other countries do, and they remain stalled in advancement such as choosing oil and coal over solar and wind power alternatives, updated infrastructure and transportation.
Family values have not improved seeing the divorce rate remains steady, domestic violence is on the rise, and the birth rate continues to fall. Christian values have been proven faulty by false doctrine, megachurch prosperity greed, while the teachings of Jesus Christ are ignored; thereby invalidating the idea of the US being a Christian nation.
Nevertheless, Republican voters would rather stand on tradition rather then actually improving the state of the nation by distributing wealth equally so all can enjoy prosperity, freedom, justice and equality. They would rather remain in a society that oppresses the vulnerable, the aging, and those who cannot defend themselves against an authoritarian government.
The Republican base needs to rebrand their party and find a totally different ideology and policy platform. If they hold on to the current platform, they will continue to plunge the country into a destitute state and the US will become a third world country for sure. Voters beware.
